Weekend Warrior

I will be at a church retreat this weekend so probably won’t see any games.  I’m hoping to catch up late Sunday night, but that will depend on the wife and if I play any indoor soccer.

The game I really want to see is Juventus v AC Milan.  This game is not a title decider per se, but if the Old Lady wins, the black and white kit may have a nice shield on it next season.

In England there is the Carling Cup Final, but I really don’t care about that.  Of course that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to the Lansing Claddagh to watch it.  Arsenal hosts Tottenham Hotspur, which could be tasty, and I’m interested to see the fans reaction to Arsene.  If the Gunners lose again, he could really be under some pressure.

As for Spain, Levante against Espanyol is a crucial game in the race for European places.  FCB travel to the Calderon, as Simeone’s Atleti get their first big test.  Between their defensive solidity and FCB’s subpar away form, there might be something in this match for the capital’s other team.

Huge game in Germany as Bayern Munich hosts Schalke.  Both teams need the three points to stay in the title chase.
