Weekend Warrior

Saturday is meh. United to get back on track and Bolton should provide that, while Spurs have become true title contenders.  Their victory over Everton in midweek brought them level with Manchester United and only three points behind City.  In Spain. Sevilla, in a slump, will be hosting Espanyol who got a late goal to draw with FCB last weekend in the league and came back in dramatic fashion in the Cup.

Sunday is full of goodness. Set your alarms as Atleti and Villarreal kick off at 6am EST. Yikes. Compelling game featuring two new managers but still it’s got DVR written all over it. Juventus hosts Cagliari Sunday morning.  With a win and a Milan slip up later in the day against Inter, the Old Lady could go top of the table. As for the Milan Derby, Inter continue their charge up the table.  A win for the Nerazzuri would close the gap between the neighbors to five points and put Inter back in the title conversation.

Sunday afternoon sees sixth placed Marseille host third placed Lille in a key Ligue Un clash.  A victory for the hosts would put them only two points behind the defending champions and keep them within touching distance of leaders PSG.  The day wraps up with FC Barcelona hosting Betis. The aforementioned draw has hurt their league chances and now there are two Clasicos in the Copa del Rey looming. Don’t be surprised if this in only a narrow victory against the vistitors.
